Position: Long Term Substitute Grade 2 Classroom Teacher
Location: Memorial Elementary School
Schedule: 2024-2025 School Year
Salary: Per Teachers Contract
To Start: May 5, 2025 - June 17, 2025
Qualifications:
●Mass. Department of Education Teacher License:
ocertified Early Childhood (PreK-3); required
ocertified Special Education Moderate Disabilities (Prek-8), preferred
ocertified English as a Second Language (PreK- 6), preferred
●Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) endorsement, required
●Bilingual Proficiency (Spanish and/or Portuguese), preferred
●Working knowledge of the Massachusetts Core-Content Frameworks and WIDA Standards
●Training and experience in Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
●Excellent computer/technology skills with the ability to utilize various computer software and app programs (student database: ASPEN X2, Google Suite, Ellevation, TalkingPoints, iReady, Clever, STMath, etc.)
●Committed to the vision of high expectations for achievement, equal access to high levels of instruction, the achievement of academic and linguistic proficiency for all students, and the closing of the achievement gap
●A self-reflective, active learner capable of interactive dialogue with all members of the school community
●A positive person, willing to become involved in the academic and social aspects of school life
Responsibilities:
●Provide a positive structured learning environment, addressing grade level core-content MA Frameworks and English proficiency appropriate EL WIDA standards
●Ability to differentiate instruction across all curriculum areas for all learners: general education, students with disabilities, and English learners
●Experience and/or knowledge working in a Co-Teaching Model.
●Ability to use formative and summative assessments to differentiate instruction
●Knowledge of and experience with comprehensive standards-based math programs, such as Illustrative Math and STMath
●Knowledge of and experience with comprehensive literacy instruction and curriculum (Fundations, Heggerty, etc)
●Knowledge of and experience with the Science of Reading Pedagogy
●Knowledge of and experience with the MTSS process
●Knowledge or experience with Responsive Classroom
●Excellent computer/technology skills with the ability to integrate technology in lessons
●Excellent classroom management skills and experience with behavior management plans
●Willingness to collaborate with colleagues as a team approach and participate in school events
