JOB SUMMARY
Responsible and accountable for the coordination, implementation, execution, control, completion and quality of projects, open work orders and preventative maintenance schedules ensuring consistency with regulatory, strategy, commitments, and goals. With limited direction, serves as point of contact with internal and external clients and / or vendors as necessary. Establishes and maintains technical and communication reports demonstrating project progress, anticipated outcomes and timeframes. Prepares and maintains the operating budget for the department along with submissions of capital requests annually. Plans, directs and delegates maintenance personnel toward successful task completion. Ensures Director is aware of overall status, including all relevant projects and their potential impact on higher level organizational strategic vision. In the absence of the Director, this position will assume the duties of the department. Strives for superior performance by consistently providing a product or service to leadership and staff that is recognized as ultimately contributing to the patient and family experience. Recognizes and demonstrates understanding of patient and family centered care.
JOB RESPONSIBILTIES
- Make recommendations for the planning and implementation of a project, work order or preventative maintenance including determining resource requirements and scheduling.
- Assist with facilitating and communicating to maintenance staff the project scope, goals, deliverables and timelines.
- Coordinate and directly manages all maintenance personnel in the performance of all preventative maintenance, repair and replacement activities.
- Prepare and maintain the operating and capital budget for the department.
- Constantly monitor and report on progress, problems and solutions on open work orders to stakeholders.
- Responsible for coordinating with vendors to oversee work outside the scope of internal labor.
- Manage maintenance staff to perform all scheduled preventative maintenance correctly, on time and in accordance with Memorial performance standards.
- Monitor necessary quality control measures and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Supervise installation of new equipment to technical specifications including planning for future preventative maintenance.
- Conduct audits and inspections periodically to ensure that life safety regulations and environment of care standards are being met.
- Maintain necessary records.
- Support the departmental vision of the Facilities Director and the Executive Director.
- Manage and maintain full operations of the department in the absence of the Facilities Director.
- Act as a resource for hazardous chemical inventory ensuring ongoing compliance.
- Coordinate and is the Chair for the Environment of Care and Water Management committees.
- Demonstrates knowledge of, and supports, hospital mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, corporate compliance plan, customer service standards and the code of ethical behavior.
