JOB SUMMARY
Under direct supervision of the Pharmacy Manager , the Pharmacy Clerk will assist in answering telephones, assisting customers, operating cash registers, and assisting with overseeing the inventory of the OTC department. The Pharmacy Clerk strives for superior performance by consistently providing a product or service to leadership and staff that is recognized as ultimately contributing to the patient and family experience. The Pharmacy Clerk recognizes and demonstrates understanding of patient and family centered care.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrates knowledge of and supports hospital mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality statements, corporate compliance plan, customer service standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
Answers phones and receives visitors.
Assist with facing products and putting pricing stickers on the OTC section
Places OTC orders and restocking the OTC shelf daily using the zebra gun
Assist customers with finding products or ringing them out
Assist with stocking bathroom supplies and helping with re-ordering of those products
Assist with re-stocking the pop cooler and letting the Director know when more product is needed
Other related duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or equivalent degree
EXPERIENCE
Office Experience
Retail Experience Preferred
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL ABILITIES / MOTOR SKILLS
Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., use of a computer keyboard). May require lifting and carrying light loads (e.g., boxes, equipment,), stooping or kneeling to file documents in lower file drawers.
Normal range of mental capacity, hearing and vision to perform work and communicate. Verbal and written communication.
Walking or standing for long periods of time (4-8 hours) often necessary. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL ABILITIES
Proficiency using modern office, computer and telephone equipment as used by Memorial Healthcare.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated customer service orientation
Basic computer skills including experience using MS Word

Ability to adapt and maintain focus in fast paced, quickly changing or stressful situations.
Ability to read and interpret a variety of documents including, but not limited to policies, operating instructions, white papers, regulations, rules and laws.

Able to see for the purpose of reading information received in formats including but not limited to paper, computer, reports, bulletins, updates, manuals.
Able to hear for work-related purposes.
