Job Summary and Qualifications
The L&D Registered Nurse will provide professional and direct nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process, collaborating with other members of the healthcare delivery team, including physicians, to assure quality healthcare.
- Provides for patient comfort, safety, respect, and confidentiality.
- Demonstrates effective therapeutic communication skills, both verbal and nonverbal, with patients, caregivers, and family members.
- Receives and assesses patient ensuring appropriate level of care as determined by their needs.
- Utilizes data obtained from the nursing assessment and formulates a plan of treatment with other members of the multi-disciplinary team based on the patients needs.
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care provided.
- Incorporates the physician's orders into the treatment plan and interprets them to the non-professional staff providing care to the patient.
- Performs treatment interventions requiring a physician's order and nursing licensure implementation.
- Accepts and communicates verbal, electronic, and written physician orders to program staff, families, and appropriate agencies involved in the patients total care spectrum.
- Engages in timely efficient discharge planning, assuring the transition of patients to the appropriate level of care as determined by the patient's needs.
Qualifications:
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing: Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is required.
- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross - ACLS and NRP.
- Minimum of 1-year experience required.
