Overview
Provide for the pastoral needs of patients, families and staff. The chaplain, through professional training and certification, assists patients to understand more fully life’s events as they relate to their spiritual and emotional well-being. From the patient’s life experience, the staff chaplain may offer prayer or reflection. The staff chaplain practices and promotes the mission, vision and values of ALMH and encourages employees in their living of the mission, vision and values.

Qualifications
Education:
- A bachelor’s degree in pastoral ministry, theology or a related field.
Licensure/Certification/Registry:
- Has at least one unit of CPE. It is preferred that staff chaplain is working towards becoming board certified or professionally recognized by an appropriate certifying organization (National Association of Catholic Chaplains, Association of Professional Chaplains, Association of Clinical Pastoral Education or the American Association of Pastoral Counselors).
Experience:
- Three years experience in pastoral ministry preferred.
- Experience in working as part of a team, good communication skills.
