Overview
Perform responsible technical work on patients in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. Responsible for the operation of various types of equipment and apparatus in providing assistance and support to the physicians performing procedures. Responsible for the proper operation of x-ray equipment and radiation safety. This work is performed under the supervision of the Manager of the Cardiac Cath Lab.

6:30AM-7:00PM
Rotating Weekends
$20,000 Sign-on Bonus!
Qualifications
Education:
- Graduate of approved School of Radiology or equivalent training.
Licensure/Certification/Registry:
- Maintain an Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety license and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certificate.
- Radiation safety classes for all technologists working in the Cath Lab will be required.
- Current BLS required.
Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrates consistent proficiency in performing most procedures including, but not limited to, caths, PTCA, stent, EP/ablation, AICD/pacemaker placement, peripheral vascular cases, and AAA.
Clinical Ladder Requirements:
Meets credit range for Clinical Ladder Levels as follows (completion of probationary period is required in order to apply for promotion in the clinical ladder):
- Special Procedure Technologist I: Technologist who is new to the CCL environment or has limited previous experience and achieves a range of 0-9 credits on the Clinical Behavior Grid.
- Special Procedure Technologist II: Technologist who achieves a range of 10-19 credits on the Clinical Ladder Behavior Grid with evidence from at least 2 categories.
- Special Procedure Technologist III: Technologist who achieves a range of 20-29 credits on the Clinical Behavior Grid with evidence from at least 3 categories.
- Special Procedure Technologist IV: Technologist who achieves at least 30 credits on the Clinical Behavior Grid with evidence from all 4 categories. Nationally-recognized certification or Bachelor’s degree required.
