We are looking for a Cashier to join our collaborative team at Memorial Health!
What You'll Do:
Manages face to face and inbound inquiries received via telephone, email, Epic MyChart and mail, from patients, representatives, vendors, insurance companies and attorneys. Effectively determines caller’s needs, exhibits professional communication with patients, family members, co-workers, vendors and payers as appropriate. • Responsible for performing duties in a manner, which promotes accurate, efficient and timely cash posting and reconciliation. Processes patients payments for hospital and Memorial Medical Group (MMG) and provides receipt of transactions. Reconciles cash drawer daily, process change orders and manages petty cash drawer. Deposits hard copy checks via virtual scanning system, meeting policy guidelines. Prepares cash deposit for delivery to bank, coordinating with courier as appropriate. Prepares credit card payments via third party vendor report, processes electronic remittance within Epic and logs general ledger payments for the Accounting Department. Processes patient credit card overpayments via Epic work queue. Reviews bankruptcy documentation, researches outstanding patient accounts and applies adjustment per legal guidelines
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent and two (2) years’ experience and relevant knowledge of revenue cycle and banking functions preferred. Understanding of health insurance and government programs, billing processes, managed care contracts, coordination of benefits with ability to interpret explanation of benefits. Knowledge of office practices and procedures, medical terminology and the ability to communicate effectively. Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
