Job Title: Evening OR Charge Nurse
Overview: Receive a $20,000 sign-on bonus and enjoy charge pay incentives while working as an Evening OR Charge Nurse. Enjoy a favorable schedule with no weekends, holidays, or on-call requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Efficiently coordinate OR cases during evening hours, ensuring smooth lunch breaks and decreasing OR teams throughout the shift.
- Prioritize urgent/emergent cases, finishing the day's elective scheduled cases while communicating with surgeons and anesthesia to coordinate cases with applicable teams.
- Act as liaison between family and surgeon, providing updates every hour or two.
- Update charting/paperwork, obtain supplies if needed, and administer meds to the sterile field.
- Collaborate with core team, scrub personnel, CRNA, Anesthesiologist, and surgeon in a fast-paced, technologically driven environment.
- Work with 3 DaVinci robots in an OR environment with Springfield Memorial Hospital's (SMH) state-of-the-art technology.
Nursing Responsibilities:
- Delegate, supervise, and provide nursing care for a designated group of patients through utilization of the nursing process.
- Provide age-appropriate care and participate in research when appropriate, incorporating research findings into evidence-based clinical practice.
- Contribute to quality improvement processes and adhere to SMH Mission, Vision, and Values, the Nursing Division Mission, Vision, and Philosophy, the ANA Code of Ethics, and the Illinois Nursing Act.
Requirements:
- Licensure/Certification/Registry: Licensed as RN in State of Illinois and current BLS/CPR certification per policy.
- Must be able to position and/or transfer an average adult patient and possess gross coordination sufficient to perform other patient care duties.
- Must be able to withstand prolonged periods of standing and perform difficult manipulative skills such as IV insertion and IM injections.
