What are the responsibilities and job description for the Phlebotomist/Patient Access Associate position at Memorial Health?
Overview
- PRN
Under the general supervision of the laboratory manager, the phlebotomist assumes the responsibility for performing venipuncture and related procedures under the philosophy, policies, and procedures established by the hospital and department. Additionally provides patient access and clerical assistance necessary to maintain the efficient productive operation of the laboratory. Embodies the Memorial Health System Performance Excellence Standards of Safety, Courtesy, Quality, and Efficiency that support our mission, vision and values.
Qualifications
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent required.
Licensure/Certification/Registry:
Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), EMT-B, or one year of phlebotomy experience preferred, preferably in a hospital setting.
Experience:
Experience as a Phlebotomist in a hospital setting preferred.
Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Participation in on call rotation required.
- Must be able to get to offsite client locations for specimen pickup or collection during normal working hours and when on call.
- Excellent communication skills coupled with strong customer relations skills.
