Job Summary
We are seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Memorial Healthcare System. This role is responsible for performing nuclear medicine imaging and/or therapy in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage radiation emergencies and monitor radiation safety under the guidance of the radiation safety officer.
- Position patients and perform imaging procedures, analyzing images and identifying issues with quality.
- Take appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures if clinically appropriate.
- Order, prepare, administer, store, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols and regulations.
- Monitor patient conditions continually and report/respond to changes in status as necessary.
- Take on-call shift responsibilities as required by the department.
- Charge appropriately for all supplies used for procedures and utilize correct exam codes.
- Prepare equipment and supplies, selecting appropriate imaging parameters and implementing safety standards.
- Perform quality control procedures on equipment, troubleshoot, resolve, and/or report malfunctions as necessary.
- Review patient histories and physician orders, educating patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
Education and Certification Requirements:
- Accredited Program: Nuclear Medicine (Required)
- Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) License - State of Florida
- Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) Certification
- American Registry of Radiology Tech (ARRT) Certification
