Title: Student Success Project Manager

Salary: $65,000 - $70,000

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Public Health, Counseling, Mental Health, Education, Special Education, Social Work, or 3-5 years work experience in a related field.
  • Multilingual language skills are preferred but not required.
  • Experience with case management, behavior planning, restorative practices.
  • Knowledge and experience working with historically marginalized youth.

 

Specific Core Function: 

 

The Student Success Project Manager will provide individualized services within the Multi-Tiered System of Support framework for Behavioral Health (MTSS-B) at Tier 3 for students who have been suspended or expelled and struggle to remain safe and engage in school. The Student Success Project Manager will build positive relationships with students, families, and community agencies to promote student resilience, reduce the likelihood of future exclusion from school, and support student success in school. When appropriate to a case, the Student Success Project Manager will incorporate trauma informed practices and interventions in behavior planning. This position will collaborate with community partners over the summer months to maintain relationships with students and families and facilitate connections between home, school, and the community to support student behavioral health.

 

 

Responsibilities of the Position: 

  • Maintains professional awareness of regulations regarding student privacy (FERPA) and interagency agreements (MOU’s) to ensure appropriate permissions are in place for case management and collaborative meetings.
  • Participate on the Tier 2-3 Behavioral Health Intervention Team to collaborate and coordinate interventions with other team members.
  • Participate on the Multidisciplinary Student Success Team to collaborate on successes, challenges, barriers, and implementation in order to inform the development and improvement of this model. 
  • Collaborate with social worker and community behavioral health agencies to address barriers that students and families face to improve connection to behavioral health services and school engagement.
  • Collaborate with community agencies to support students with behavioral health programming
  • Draft re-entry, safety, and/or behavior plans for students coming back from suspension, while including the student in the planning process.
  • Connect with suspended and/or expelled students during their period of exclusion from school and assist with connecting to community partners for services. 
  • Attend Conduct Committee reconsideration hearings for previously expelled students, draft re-entry plans for students returning from expulsion and include the student in the planning process. 
  • Facilitate restorative justice conferencing between students or between staff and students.
  • Facilitate person-centered, strengths based meetings with an individualized team that includes the student, families, and community agencies (as appropriate to the case).
  • Collaborate with bilingual and multilingual District liaisons, including liaisons in meetings if applicable to a student’s case.
  • Work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, school counselors, special education teams, attendance teams, and community agencies (i.e. behavioral health, juvenile justice) to ensure communication and coordination is in place for any student plans.
  • Collaborate with community partner to support student behavioral health over the summer months to bridge the gap between home and school.
  • Collect data to meet requirements of grant funding.

Assignments and CommitteesOngoing training will be assigned to support this position in trauma awareness and trauma informed practices, re-entry planning, behavior/safety planning, restorative justice conferencing, and person-centered planning. Presentations/updates at the Conduct Committee with the MTSS-B Director. Participation in Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) conferences as funds are available.

 

Specified Length/Hours of Position: This is a non-affiliated 228-day salaried position and is contingent upon funding. This position is grant funded through 9/30/27.
