Job Description:
- Directs daily operations of Cardiac Telemetry, Orthopedic and Neurosciences Services, Respiratory, Infusion and Physical Therapy Services
- Responsible for daily operational oversight for assigned clinical areas and the quality, service and cost-effectiveness of care delivered in these areas
- Coordinates clinical services with all other patient care services to assure the smooth integration of an interdisciplinary approach to quality patient care
- Assures effective communication within and between work areas to achieve positive patient outcomes
- Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of existing programs and recommends changes to meet current and long-range goals
- Develops, monitors and trends services to promote performance improvement
- Performs patient care services as needed
- Provides leadership and oversight to assigned areas of responsibility
- Works in conjunction with Administration and clinical leadership from each area to enhance recruitment and development
- Ensures employment practices are in compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, standards and guidelines
- Provides policy interpretation; monitors policies and procedures for effectiveness; and recommends and develops new policies and makes recommendation for change to existing policies
- Oversees operational team employee annual review
- Reviews and presents ongoing audits, reports and metrics for areas of responsibility
- Provides administrative support toward achievement of clinical outcomes consistent with patient and physician goals
- Provides strategic and financial planning for areas of responsibility
- Prepares, administers, and monitors annual operating and capital budgets
- Facilitates the planning and coordination of quality and cost-effective services throughout the organization
- Oversees schedule management, financial management and reconciliation including budget review and variance reporting
- Ensures recommendations regarding department activities, operations, and expansions are consistent with goals, objectives, and mission of Memorial
Required Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, with successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing Program.
Licensure: Current MS RN licensure, or compact RN license.
Experience: Ten (10) years of recent clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in the area(s) of responsibility, with five (5) years of demonstrated progressive leadership experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Master’s degree in a health-related field or MBA.
Experience: Fifteen (15) years of experience in Cardiac Telemetry, Orthopedic Services, Neurosciences Services, Respiratory or Physical Therapy Services.
