What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director - Women and Children Services Administration - Days - FT position at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport?
- Assures the continued delivery of quality and cost-effective services provided by the departments
- Assures the departments provide appropriate service levels with corrective actions noted for areas of needed improvement
- Assures delivery of services provided are within acceptable cost range parameters
- Assures services are consistently monitored and evaluated to assure consistency of quality, service, and improvement
- Maintains "Baby-Friendly" designation with the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) by completing and communicating yearly AQI activities with staff and leaders
- Assures effective financial planning and management of the department
- Prepares annual budgets appropriately and monitored regularly
- Maintains area costs within budgeted parameters with variances appropriately documents and justified
- Prepares capital budgets and administers appropriately; Purchases within budget parameters
- Provides effective personnel management, training, and development
- Staffs services appropriately and within budgeted parameters
- Completes performance appraisals accurately, timely, and consistently with hospital guidelines
- Serves as a coach and mentor for staff by offering advice and direction to build a more qualified, motivated, and professional staff
- Maintains employee contact through regular meetings and rounds through the departments
- Provides overall leadership, direction and administration of operations/relations within the department and in a representative and consultative manner outside the department
- Assures development and maintenance of appropriate policies and procedures
- Attends safety huddles/meetings
- Assures communication, compliance and administration of hospital and department policies and procedures
- Assures planning and coordination of delivery of services to hospital divisions/departments
- Provides strategic planning for areas of responsibility
- Maintains knowledge of Memorial Health System's strategic vision and goals
- Leads in a manner consistent with the organization's goals and vision
- Makes recommendations regarding department activities, operations and expansion are consistent with goals, objectives and mission of the health system
- Promotes and ensures positive customer and community relations
- Maintains positive communication channels with patients, hospital staff, physicians, and visitors
- Makes frequent rounds on patients in the division and investigates complaints thoroughly, promptly, and courteously
- Oversees childbirth education programs and participates in community related activities as needed or required
- Coordinates, hosts, and participates in MS State Department of Health Fetal Infant Mortality Review (FIMR) meetings
