What are the responsibilities and job description for the Echo Ultrasound Tech (Temp) - Cardiology - Days - PT0 position at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport?
Job Specifications:
- Provides direct patient care and evaluates outcome
- Assess patient as appropriate for procedure and monitor patients during and after procedure
- Performs all echo-imaging services provided in the department to demonstrate structures for interpretation and/or therapeutic interpretation
- Performs exams using DICOM procedures and completes reporting according to CVIS workflow
- Evaluates results of procedures and patient response and takes action accordingly
- Performs duties and responsibilities to ensure delays are prevented and/or minimized
- Provides safety measures for patients undergoing procedures
- Monitors quality control of equipment and participates in continuing quality improvement in the assigned division
- Evaluates images for technical quality; assuring proper identification is recorded
- Assumes responsibility for equipment in assigned area and reports any malfunctions
- Participates in CQI activities and performs specific quality control duties as assigned
- Communicates patient and/or family healthcare needs to the appropriate healthcare provider
- Corroborates patient's clinical history with procedure; assuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner
- Reporting of variances or significant events and results to the appropriate care giver
- Practices with legal, ethical, and professional boundaries
- Maintains clinical expertise in area; demonstrates proficiency in performing skills within scope of practice
- Serves as a role model by demonstrating positive team base behaviors
- Shows commitment to personal and professional growth through the pursuit of advanced knowledge and skills
- Performance of duties will be in compliance with all laws and regulations governing healthcare organizations

- Completes special duties and/or projects as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Education: High School or Graduate Equivalent Diploma.
Licensure: Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or registry eligible and complete registry within 4 months of employment.
Experience: Completion of a cardiac ultrasound training program, which includes clinical hours, or one-to-two year’s experience performing echocardiograms and registry eligible.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Program. Associates Degree in related Healthcare field.
Experience: Two (2) years of experience performing echocardiograms.
