The Clinical Nurse Practitioner renders medical care to patients within the clinical setting of the hospital and clinic offices and is responsible for assessment of the patients and provides care for each identified patient.
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Successful completion of a Master’s in nursing program with NP focus.
Experience: Two (2) years of clinical experience as a staff Registered Nurse (RN).
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served; knowledge of principles of growth and development and the ability to assess data reflective of patient’s status. Interpretation of information is required to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care need as described in the department policies and procedures. Ability to problem solve for patients with complicated disorders. Ability instruct using adult learning methods. Practices using nursing principles, practices and procedures.
