Qualifications
Job Specifications:
Collaborates with billing organization to ensure accurate information is submitted for billing on all professional services.
Verifies billing is complete, and the charges are processed daily into EHR system.
Identifies any issues with billing of professional services and technical fees and communicates to appropriate departments.
Completes month end patient billing activities.
Responsible for patient eligibility and benefits verification processes and provides financial counseling when needed.
Counsels patients on insurance benefits, financial responsibility and application completion for patient assistance programs.
Communicates payment expectations according to established care plans.
Processes and monitors patient accounts until final resolution of the patient's financial obligation is determined.
Participates as a member of the team to achieve business goals, quality outcomes and customer satisfaction.
Provides assistance to team members as requested or required.
Regular and timely attendance is required for this job.
Participates on committees/councils and performance improvement activities as requested/required.
Successful completion of probation and annual skills/competency requirements.
Practices within legal, ethical and professional boundaries.
Maintains expertise in the area.
Serves as a role model by demonstrating positive team-based behaviors.
Shows commitment to personal professional growth through the pursuit of advanced knowledge and skills.
Safeguards confidential information.
Performance of duties will be in compliance with all laws and regulations governing healthcare organizations.
Required Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Three (3) years of patient registration, patient access, medical billing or coding experience in a clinical setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Successful completion of a credentialed coding program.
Experience: Three (3) years of administrative experience in an oncology or radiation oncology setting. Previous experience working with patient financials and insurance plans.
