Job Title : Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
Job Specialty : Emergency Room (ER)
Job Duration : 13 Weeks
Shift : 12H Nights, Every Other Weekend, First to Float
Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week
Experience : Minimum 2 years
License : License to Submit Required
Certifications : BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS for Adult ER; BLS, ALS, PALS, and ENPC or CPEN preferred for Peds ER
Must-Have : Cerner experience, IV skills, travel experience, acute care experience
Job Description :
- Must be proficient with Cerner (FirstNet).
- Must possess strong IV skills and have prior travel and acute care experience.
- Basic EKG interpretation test required during orientation.
- Experience with both adult and pediatric emergency care is necessary.
- The ability to handle a wide range of diagnoses from minor to critically ill patients, including respiratory failure, asthma, abdominal pain, fractures, substance abuse, stroke alerts, and more.
- Be flexible with scheduling-three shifts on unit plus meet with ER educator to complete all necessary education.
- Work environment includes Adult ER with 18 beds and 10 reclining chairs for moderate care, and Peds ER with 5 beds and 5 reclining chairs.
- Maintain professionalism and adaptability in a dynamic, fast-paced setting that serves as a STEMI, CVA, and burn receiving center.
- Teamwork with ER techs or CNAs and collaboration with a monitor tech, midlevels, and a designated pediatric doctor during specified hours.
- Required to work every other weekend and 2 out of every 3 holidays.
- Must wear cranberry-colored scrubs for LVNs.
