Job Description

Job Title : Physician

Shift : Day 7 on 7 off, 7 : 00 AM - 7 : 00 PM (rotation of days, evenings, and weekends)

Guaranteed Hours : Full-time, minimum of 7 days / month

Experience : Minimum 1 years

License : IL License required; IMLC candidates will be reviewed

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, DEA

Must-Have : Board Certification, COVID and Flu vaccination

Job Description :

• Responsible for providing gastroenterological care to adult patients in an inpatient setting.
• Perform required procedures including esophageal dilatation, small bowel biopsy, lower GI endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, and insertion / management of Sengstaken / Blakemore Tube.
• Conduct types of upper GI endoscopy : with biopsy, with foreign body removal, with fulguration of bleeder (cautery), with banding of varices, and with ERCP (diagnostic and therapeutic).
• Involvement in PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) procedures.
• Maintain and update patient records using EMR systems such as EPIC / Provation for GI Procedure documentation.
• Collaborate with support staff, including Advanced Practice Providers (APP).
• Participate in night call for urgent cases.
• Ensure adherence to credentialing timeframe of 60-90 days.
• Maintain a patient load averaging 14 cases per day, subject to variation.

This position offers a dynamic rotation, allowing for a balance of professional activity and personal flexibility.
