What are the responsibilities and job description for the Health Unit Clerk | Emergency Department (Contingent) position at Memorial Hospital of Union County?
What You'll Do:
Contingent
- Support nurses in the Emergency Department (ED) by assuming responsibility for direct and indirect patient care.
- Collect patient data and promptly identify/report significant findings to nurses.
- Monitor and maintain the appearance of lobbies and entrances in the ED.
- Assist and guide patients through the registration process and hospital procedures.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with staff, patients, and visitors.
- Serve as a liaison between patients, healthcare staff, and other hospital departments.
- Cross-train to fulfill various departmental needs as required.
What You'll Bring:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Coursework or experience demonstrating basic knowledge of patient care techniques.
- Enrolled in nursing or other related medical field program preferred, or proven competency-based qualifications as a Patient Care Technician (PCT II).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
