Position Summary
The Certified Surgical First Assistant is an advanced Allied Health Care Practitioner that has received formal education and training through an accredited program and possesses the experience and skills needed to help the surgeon carry out a safe and successful operation with optimal results for the surgical patient.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Graduate of a surgical tech program and/or current Surgical Technologist certification. Successful completion of an accredited Surgical First Assistant Program. CAAHEP accreditation preferred.
- Minimum Experience: A minimum one year experience required. On-call required.
- Certification/Licensure: Current Surgical First Assistant certification required. Current CPR Certificate required.
- Minimum Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Graduate of a surgical tech program and/or current Surgical Technologist certification. Successful completion of an accredited Surgical First Assistant Program. CAAHEP accreditation preferred.
For New hires: BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment. If currently certified, must maintain current certification.
Certification or completion courses must meet the standards of Memorial Medical Center.
