Position Summary
Provides and is responsible for patient assessment, treatment, airway and ventilator management, establishes therapeutic objectives, diagnostic evaluation and care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the pulmonary system during the transport process, under the direction of the Medical Director.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum Education: Associate’s degree in Applied Science/Respiratory Therapy - Required
- Minimum Experience: Must have at least three (3) years experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a healthcare setting win adult, pediatric, neonatal and emergency setting required.
- Certification/Licensure: Current license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in the State of NM and NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist. Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required. ACLS is required for all areas where moderate sedation is performed. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP), STABLE.
- Minimum Education: Associate’s degree in Applied Science/Respiratory Therapy - Required
New Hires: Required certification must be obtained within three months for BLS and STABLE, six months for NRP and one year of employment for ACLS. If currently certified, must maintain current certification.
Within 24 months of hire/transfer, obtain a Secondary Credential.
AARC Membership required.
