General Description:

As part of the Facilities team, the Custodian is responsible for the general day to day cleaning tasks within the ~90,000 sq.ft. facility of Memorial Presbyterian Church - maintaining the exceptional standards established by Dr. Strosacker and continued to the present.
Requirements:
· The person filling this position must be self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision.
· Able to work on their feet for 8-10 hours, climb stairs, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs.
· Have good work and job attendance records.
· Detail oriented.
· Positive attitude and the ability to work with people in a teamwork setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Clean assigned areas following established schedules and prescribed methods; include removing trash, sweeping and/or dust mopping floors, polishing hard surfaces, vacuuming carpets, cleaning windows and mirrors, dusting furniture and artificial plants, equipment, and ledges, wet mopping floors, and washing off tabletops, countertops, and equipment.
· Lock and unlock building and rooms, close windows, turn off lights, and secure building.
· Perform special projects to include cleaning windows, carpets, stripping and waxing floors, washing walls, baseboards, changing light bulbs, and other duties as assigned.
· Maintain assigned equipment for safety and cleanliness.
· Report items needing repair, mechanical, electrical, and anything in general to the Director of Facilities.
· Load, unload, and move supplies.
Related Duties and Responsibilities:
· Sweep and/or remove debris, leaves, snow and ice from steps and walks at building entrances.
· Assists visiting public utilizing the facilities with directions within the building or in obtaining and setting up needed equipment and or material.
· Assist with arrangement and set-up of furniture, staging, liturgical, and/or education activity equipment, etc. working from diagrams, written, and/or oral instructions.
· Assist with tear-down and rearrange of rooms/areas following the completion of activities.
· Performs other responsibilities and duties as directed by Facility Director and Senior Pastor or designee.
