Job Description
Certified Medical Assistant | MSK Commack
Exciting Opportunity at MSK : Join our team as a Medical Assistant and be a key member of the patient care team in the outpatient oncology setting! Work closely with providers, nurses, and administrative staff to deliver an exceptional patient experience.
Role overview : You will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinical practice. This position involves a dynamic blend of clinical and administrative responsibilities, including assisting patients, performing vital sign measurements, preparing for and assisting in medical procedures, and managing patient flow.
Key Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent, with graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program and relevant specialized certifications.
- National Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or registration by a recognized credentialing body such as :
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through the American Association of Medical Assistants
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through American Medical Technologists
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through National Healthcare Association
- National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) through the National Center for Competency Testing
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification.
- Demonstrated strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Basic proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and email systems.
- Previous experience in a medical assistant role within an outpatient setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with OSHA standards and multi-specialty experience in a high-volume setting is advantageous.
