Position Summary
This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with our core values : Accountability, Best Practices, Compassion and Synergy. The employee shall support Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center's strategic plan and participate in and advocate performance improvement / patient safety activities.
Performs a variety of housekeeping duties in order to maintain the hospital facilities in a neat, orderly and sanitary manner. Cleans and moves furniture, equipment and uses proper cleaning supplies according to established procedures.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
1. Ability to safely and competently perform assigned duties
2. Ability to follow through when given directions
3. Ability to prioritize workload efficiently.
4. Ability to perform the basic cleaning functions within the patient setting.
5. Ability to perform job function utilizing safe practices such as but not limited to :
6. Proper use of wet floor signs
7. Safe Bio hazard waste handling
8. Linen bags change out ½ full
9. Ability to respond to emergency situations involving either patient safety or building safety according to hospital policies and procedures and / or regulatory requirements
10. Ability to be at work and be on time
11. Ability to follow company policies, procedures and directives
12. Ability to interact in a positive and constructive manner
13. Ability to prioritize and multitask
