What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activities Coordinator position at Memory Care of The Triad?
The Activity Coordinator coordinates with the assessment of resident abilities, limitations, and preferences related to activities. You will also assist in planning for and providing group and individual activities for the residents. Duties involve personal contact with a varying resident population and a varied work schedule that may include some weekends, evenings, and holidays. Tasks also involve progress documentation, other record keeping, attention to the environment, use of supplies and equipment, and maintenance of storage areas. Activities may include arts and crafts, outdoor activities, sports, music or drama. The Activity Assistant should prepare equipment and ensure the safety of patients or participants in the activity. Activities Assistant should assist in leading the participants in group activities, such as an exercise class or art project.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Planning and facilitating daily, weekly, and monthly events to encourage socialization, relaxation, and recreation.
- Implementing activities that accommodate those with special needs.
- Handling logistics to make the event possible, such as making phone calls, advertising, managing inventory and budgets, training and motivating volunteers or employees, and coordinating transportation.
- Observing participants at events gauge their enjoyment and obtain their feedback to improve events.
- Keeping records regarding event planning resources, participant interest, and other notable information, such as injuries or behavioral incidents.
- Reporting medical concerns or observations.
- Ensuring that events are well-provisioned, the event staff is trained and prepared, and that the event takes place on time and within budget.
- Providing participants with instructions for the event.
- Adhering to and enforcing all safety procedures.
You will report directly to the Executive Director.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: Up to $18.00 per hour
