Meat Processing Plant
Job Description:
· Prepare and cut meat products according to customer specifications, includes grinding meat and making patties. Carcass breakdown experience necessary.
Slaughter beef, bison and hogs one day a week; we slaughter 18-25 head every Tuesday
· Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures
· Bag and vacuum pack cuts and ground
· Clean and maintain work area and equipment
Skills:
· Proven experience as a meat cutter or butcher
· Knowledge of different cuts of meat and their uses
· Strong knife skills and ability to handle sharp tools safely
· Attention to detail and ability to work quickly and accurately
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
· Willingness to wear several hats and do what needs to be done to get the job done
We are a small, independent abattoir with a passion for artisan butchery; we are a team of 9.
