Job Summary
Responsible for performing tasks related to the daily operations of Memphis International Airport and for FAR Part 139-compliance on an assigned shift. Responsible for coordination of security and maintenance matters after normal work hours, weekends, and holidays. Serves as a Duty Manager in the absence of senior management.

Position Description
1. Acts as a representative of Airport Management in the absence of senior staff members.
2. Works cooperatively with Supervising Authority in the preparation and maintenance of the Airport Certification Manual, Emergency Plan, Terminal Evacuation Plan, and other Part 139 required documents.
3. Maintains a working knowledge of FAR Part 139 and other federal aviation regulations pertaining to airfield safety. Works cooperatively with other departments to ensure compliance with applicable aviation, safety, and security regulations.
4. Implements emergency plan and coordinates all operations until relieved by senior staff.
5. Represents Airport Management at international arrivals requiring Customs Border Patrol clearance.
6. Drives a vehicle and performs daily inspections of the runways, taxiways, ramps, and other airfield areas. Makes periodic visual inspections of facilities, and construction areas. Occasionally sets up and operates towed equipment, including emergency trailers, runway closure X's, and FOD-removal equipment. Uses manual dexterity to operate portable radios used to verbally communicate with Air Traffic Control, supervisors, tenants, and other airport partners.
7. Uses written communication to maintain records of significant events and pertinent matters. Reports matters to Airport Management or tenants as needed.
8. Utilizes the NOTAM system to communicate accurate information about the airfield. Responsible for communication between Airport and FAA relative to airfield operating conditions.
9. Coordinates Security, Maintenance, and Communications Center functions with appropriate personnel to maintain continuity of work assignments. Uses written and verbal communication to assign job duties.
10. Coordinates appropriate action upon written and verbal requests from tenants, concessionaires, and governmental agencies.
11. Uses written, verbal, and electronic communication methods to keep stakeholders and senior staff members informed of all important situations in a timely manner.
12. Receives comments, suggestions, and complaints from passengers and visitors and assists them when possible.
13. Uses normal attention with periods of high concentration intermittently. Works in an office environment and outdoor environments with exposure to all weather conditions.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS :
EDUCATION - Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, related discipline, or equivalent combination of experience and training.
EXPERIENCE - Three (3) years' experience in an airport environment at a small-, medium-, or large-hub airport.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES - Knowledge of emergency planning, airport operations, airport security, FAR parts 139 and 77, and TSAR Parts 1540 and 1542.
Excellent human relations skills including ability to build effective and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
Ability to make immediate, vital decisions, regarding safety matters under stressful conditions. Ability to perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and speed under the pressure of time-sensitive deadlines and changing priorities. Ability to interact with others in a way that inspires trust, confidence, and integrity.
