What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager- Decision Analytics and Information Management position at Memphis-Shelby County Schools?
The Manager of Decision Analytics & Information Management will support the Director's vision and execute the district-wide analytics and data strategy, setting data governance standards, and implementing processes to improve data quality, reliability, and utilization for Shelby County Schools. The position is responsible for project management for the department to support customer satisfaction, streamlined operational processes, and dissemination of strategically relevant, actionable data insights to stakeholders. This role manages, coordinates, prepares, and helps implement project plans to advance the analytic and reporting capabilities of the district. It also manages defined projects or phase(s) of projects to identify, recommend, and implement changes to increase efficiency between both internal and cross-departmental teams. The position is responsible for accountability and communication around the implementation of standards including data definitions, data quality, data architecture, master data management and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) identification.
Degree Equivalency Formula
Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.
Master’s Degree= 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Master’s degrees are required, years for Bachelor’s Degrees must be included.
- Leads the relationship management activities between Decision Analytics team and stakeholders to ensure quality production and support of actionable business insights
- Actively engages with internal business leaders to educate on data analytics capabilities, while collaborating on their unique challenges to deliver robust, data driven solutions.
- Directs strategic development and project management related to data definitions, data quality, data architecture, master data management, and KPI identification
- Manages, coordinates, prepares and helps implement project plans to support strategic operational initiatives.
- Measures project performance using appropriate tools and techniques to monitor progress, identify and quantify variances, recommend corrective actions, and communicate to stakeholders.
- Functions as an effective team-builder and facilitator. Builds mutual trust and encourages respect and cooperation among team members to facilitate project completion.
- Supports and develop the skills and capabilities of the Decision Analytics team
- Manages day-to-day supervisor responsibilities to ensure team success.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned or directed.
