Guest Services Team Member (Seasonal)

Join the team at the Memphis Zoo!

It takes A LOT to run a Zoo. Just as we provide world-class animal care, we also aim to please our guests. The Zoo is seeking friendly, customer-service oriented individuals to join our Guest Services Operations team. This multifaceted position supports guests’ needs through parking, assisting with safety and first aid, and offering guest engagement throughout the Zoo!

A typical day at the Zoo includes:

· Working at multiple stations including parking, reception, monitoring buildings

· Greeting guests in a courteous manner as they arrive to the Zoo.

· Sharing knowledge of all the experiences the Memphis Zoo has to offer with our guests.

Some skills you will need:

· You'll need to be accommodating to guests and staff alike.

· Be able to collaborate with teams to accomplish daily goals.

· You'll need some resilience. Our days can change at a moment's notice, and we'll need to adapt on the fly.

· Flexible schedules to include working weekends, and Special Events (i.e., Zoo Boo, Zoo Lights, etc.)

If you do not possess these skills already, prepare to learn:

· You may handle cash/process transactions.

· Safety and first aid procedures

Some things to enjoy at the Zoo:

· We primarily work during the day. There may be an occasional evening shift.

· Many of our coworkers have fur, feathers, and fins. This is not your typical workplace.

· Although off-days are for relaxation, you'll also receive complimentary tickets and a membership to the Zoo to visit with your family or friends.

· You'll be in a fast-paced environment. We work hard.
