Summary:

If so, we are seeking Rides Operators/Cashiers to join our team. As in integral part of our rides department, you'll pay a key role in guest experience by operating rides safely and efficiently, and ensuring that each guest receives exceptional service. This position involves more than operational aspects; it involves engaging with guests, addressing their concerns, and maintaining a friendly and enjoyable experience.
Essential Job Functions:
- Operate rides and attractions according to safety protocols.
- Monitor and inspect rides and attractions for safety.
- Load and unload passengers in a safe and timely manner.
- Provide customer service to guests, including answering questions and providing assistance.
- Collect tickets or payment for rides.
- Enforce all safety regulations and stay current with safety rules and procedures.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the work area.
- Relieving other team members for breaks.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- High school diploma.
- Previous customer service experience.
- General knowledge of safety procedures.
Skills/Behavior:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Reporting Structure: Reports to Rides Manager, Team Leads.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Seasonal positions are defined as temporary work to meet an organization’s temporary needs during certain times of the year and can last up to 6 months. This position can be scheduled to work approximately up to 40 hours per week. Scheduling is at the discretion of the manager. This position is considered non-exempt under the federal and state wage and hour laws.
This position regularly requires flexible hours including weekdays, holidays, and weekends including early morning, daytime, and evening hours to provide coverage during Zoo hours of operation.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee primarily works outdoors on Zoo grounds. The work environment is fast-paced and may involve exposure to warmer or colder temperatures. Employees should be prepared to work in a busy, moderately loud, and dynamic setting.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and/or stand for long periods of time. The employee is constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
