SUMMARY:
The Land Technician provides technical support related to preparation, processing, and management of data to the land team, while also managing special projects. The Land Technician must have a strong working knowledge of land data, operated processes, and land documents.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate and distribute operated correspondence and well proposals. Track elections to ensure timely responses.
- Setup Joint Interest Billing decks.
- Research and process non-operated AFEs.
- Research leases and contracts for proposals.
- Processing of oil and gas leases and all related contracts, including administering payment for new lease purchases and confirmation of associated documents for accuracy.
- Transmit leases, assignments, etc. to land administration and to partners.
- Assist landmen in the preparation of leases and contracts.
- Create or assist in the creation of exhibits, assignments, rights of way, and other contracts.
- Assist in other land specific projects, as necessary, as assigned by management.

- Proficiency in Microsoft products including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Quorum.
- Preferred: proficiency in iLandman, ArcGIS and PowerBI.
- Demonstrated aptitude for learning and understanding software.
- Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Strong preferred experience working (Texas) operated oil and gas assets
- High school diploma or GED (required).
- Bachelors degree or equivalent related work experience (preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of in-house petroleum land experience (required). 5 to 10 years is strongly preferred and final the level of role will be based on prior demonstrated land experience and assessment of capability as it relates to the position (Land Tech 1 up to Sr Tech).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Fluent verbal and written skills in English.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Professional Land Management Certification (preferred)
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment
- May occasionally be asked to work nights/weekends if urgent issues arise
- Eligible for Hybrid Telework Program with a minimum of 3 days in-office weekly
