Job Summary
The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for administering respiratory therapy and life support to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system. The therapist performs diagnostic tests of the cardiovascular and pulmonary systems to aid physicians in diagnosis and treatment of heart and lung disorders. The role requires participation in performance improvement and CQI activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer respiratory therapy and life support to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system.
- Perform diagnostic tests of the cardiovascular and pulmonary systems to aid physicians in diagnosis and treatment of heart and lung disorders.
- Participate in performance improvement and CQI activities.
Requirements
- Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy.
- Current Arkansas Respiratory License - CRTT, RRT, or RRT eligible.
- BLS (CPR) certification required. ACLS preferred.
- Five years' hospital experience preferred.
