POSITION SUMMARY:
The Infrastructure Platforms Administration Intern will assist in the day-to-day administration; support and ongoing enhancement of Menard, Inc.’s servers. The Intern must be able to work in a secure, mission-critical production-computing environment.
The position requires 15-20 hours per week between 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Server Maintenance:
- Investigate, resolve, and document any problems
- Install new patches/upgrades in development and test systems as needed
* New Systems:
- Support server hardware and software, including Windows and Linux/Unix based servers and server applications both physical and in a virtualization environment.
- Support tablet and desktop PC software deployments.
- Support high availability solutions through clustering.
- Work with cloud based solutions.
- Support storage using a SAN.
- Research solutions, develop operational programs & scripts, and implement the final solution after approval
- Test and configure updates for mobile devices
- Certifying new mobile and desktop devices
- Testing new versions of operating systems
* Other:
- Monitor ticket volume and troubleshoot issue or communicate with team on getting issues resolved
- Communicate and troubleshoot with other teams on any issues they are having
- Create and update process documentation
