Opportunity
Associate Director, Incentive Compensation will act as a strategic partner with the business leadership and provide strong guidance and recommendations based on analytics to design fair and accurate incentive plans that align with corporate objectives in a legal and compliant manner, and to manage the systems and processes to administer these plans for Commercial Organization in the US, for Orserdu, Elzonris and any future indications/drugs. This role will report to AVP, Commercial Excellence
Responsibilities
- Lead the sales Incentive Compensation (IC) plan design, documentation, and administration & reporting
- Responsible for designing fair and accurate incentive plans, goals, contests, and implementing them in an effective manner
- Deep understanding of Incentive Compensation (IC) principles, including contests, recognize and reward our employees for their hard work and achievements
- Be able to deep dive into drivers for growth (including account level goals) and able to partner with forecasting team to ensure accurate IC goals
- Explore all data sources which may continue to improve the IC; partner with Data Operations and Strategy team
- As IC person, be the flag bearer of quality to ensure 100% accuracy of IC plan/design, goals, payouts, contest design and payouts. This will require providing timely feedback to Data teams and taking feedback from IC eligible field teams
- Work with AVP, Commercial Excellence, Sales Leadership and Vendor Partners to drive the creation of fair, accurate and motivating incentive plans, goals, contests, awards and contests aligned with corporate objectives
- Work with HR, Finance, Legal and Compliance (and other functions as needed) to continue to ensure that the IC plan and IC SOP is in accordance with all company policies
- Manage overall IC plan administration and payouts in a timely manner
- Manage rollout of IC plans to field in accordance with IC SOP
- Continue to monitor the health and effective of the IC plan and contests through the plan period through regular health check analyses
- Make presentations related to the IC plans as needed to sales leadership at HQ as well as during field sales meetings as needed
- Resolve field queries related around IC data and payouts as needed
- Develop training materials for new field personnel
- The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Commercial Leadership as well as other departments, including Legal/Compliance, Medical Affairs, Human Resources, Finance, and Legal, to ensure that all programs meet our company's objectives.
Skills/Knowledge
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business, Daa Science, Analytics or related field; equivalent experience may be accepted. Related advanced degree preferred.
- 8 years of relevant experience in pharma/biotech space with experience in Hematology/Oncology preferred
- 5 years of experience in designing and managing incentive compensation and awards programs
- Previous experience working in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry required along with deep knowledge of data leading to IC
- Experience working with large complex data and corresponding query/ programming languages such as SAS, Alteryx, R, Python, or SQL plus experience with other big data technology such as Hadoop and front-end tools such as Tableau, Qliksense, Veeva
- Proficiency in manipulating and extracting insights from large longitudinal data sources, such as Claims, EMR and other patient level data sets, GPO dispense, Specialty Pharmacy and Hub dispense, 867/Chargeback, Retail/wholesale data
- This position requires a deep understanding of current trends and deep understanding of incentive compensation and rewards, as well as best practices in employee recognition programs
- Eye for detail and a deep understanding of incentive compensation and awards management principles
- Should have excellent communication and organizational skills and have a proven track record of creating and executing incentive compensation and award plans
- Must be a strong collaborator working closely with IT, Compliance, HR, Finance, Medical Affairs and Commercial (sales, marketing, market access) partners
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High degree of creativity and innovation in developing new approaches, processes and methodologies.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; including describing complex data topics in simple terms
- Strong organizational skills and time management; ability to manage diverse range of simultaneous projects
- Ability to interface with Executive Leadership with confidence and subject matter expertise
