What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Director, Tax Planning and Compliance position at Menarini Stemline?
We are seeking a detail-oriented Associate Director, Tax Planning and Compliance to lead and manage all domestic tax-related responsibilities, including compliance, tax planning, and reporting for Menarini Stemline. This role requires a hands-on approach and a deep understanding of U.S. corporate tax laws, with a focus on maintaining tax efficiency. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, oversee compliance processes, and provide strategic input on tax implications for business decisions.
Hybrid role-expected on-site presence 1-2 days per week (flexibility required where needed for business responsibilites).
Please note--this position is classified as a corporate office position. In accordance with the New York employer convenience rule, Stemline will withhold New York state income taxes for all corporate office employees, regardless of whether these employees work in New York or remotely.
Responsibilities
- Corporate Income Tax compliance including preparation of federal income tax return
- Corporate Income Tax compliance including preparation of approximately thirty (30) state income tax returns
- Annual tax provision calculations including periodic updates
- Sales & Use Tax compliance and related tax returns, if required
- BEAT tax analysis.
- R&D credit study and analysis.
- Section 174 R&D capitalization assessment.
- Value added tax (VAT) research
- Special projects and research as required
- Qualifications
- BS in Accounting.
- Masters Degree in Tax preferred, but not required.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.
- Minimum of five to seven years of corporate tax experience.
- Prefer tax experience with public accounting firms for a minimum of two years.
- Excellent skillset in MS Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
- Working knowledge of corporate tax return software applications.
