About The Opportunity
Ensures and coordinates maintenance team efforts in maintaining, trouble shooting, repairing and keeping plant equipment and the facility in safe working order to provide our customers with their products.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work in a safe and efficient manner using all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), safety devices or equipment that is required in accordance with all Standard Work documentation. (If Standard Work is not developed for this job, proper trained techniques must be followed)
- Lead team of 4-8 maintenance technicians including coaching.
- Train new employees, identify training needs of team and conduct training as needed when possible.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plant equipment and facilities when problems occur.
- Maintain inventory of parts and supplies, ordering when necessary
- Respond to changing priorities in a timely manner so that plant metrics are not negatively impacted. Provide feedback to Production Management team on issues affecting production and/or completion of an order.
- Initiate, recommend and/or provide solutions to address issues via the appropriate channels. Coordinate all Preventative Maintenance Activities and distribute to team.
- Assign projects to maintenance team.
- Follow all process requirements to include policies, guidelines, and work instructions.
- Be actively involved in continuous improvement, promote, and sustain and CI, 5S and standard work activities.

Education/Certification:
Level Required
None
Level Desired
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Work Experience:
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience
Internal ORBIS Employee:
- Operator 3 or higher, or maintenance technician
- Less than 3 attendance points
- No disciplinary actions above Verbal Warning
- Remain in positions for a minimum of 180 days
Desired :
- 3-7 year’s demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing processes and industrial maintenance in hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical
- Blueprint reading
- 2 years in a position of leadership
- Understanding of Preventative Maintenance Programs
- Understanding of robotics/automation
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Safety sensitive position – ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner. Knowledge and adherence to Lock Out Tag Out program for all equipment.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business.
- Ability to effectively work independently and within a team environment.
- Ability to influence others without direct authority.
- Proven ability to develop relationships with Management and Peers.
- Ability to collect, organize and analyze data.
- Must have mathematical skill to add, subtract, multiply, and divide and the ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Must have ability to reason and address problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Must be able to read/comprehend written and oral instructions in English; read and comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and product recipes/material identifications; must be able to write in English.
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English one-on-one and in small group situations.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer programs that may pertain to maintenance of the equipment or building.
Machines, Tools, Instruments, Equipment and Materials Used:
- Operates various hand tools, lift trucks, aerial lifts, machine shop and other equipment
