Machine Operator

Menasha Packaging is looking for employees to work in the Gluing and Joining department. If you are looking for a position that allows you to be up and moving around, then this is role for you! Location: 621 Wacker Dr (Hartford), WI 53027

Shift Requirements: 12-hour 2-2-3 shift, straight nights (6pm - 6am).

*FLEX opportunities also available for six hour shifts from 6 pm – 6 am. (6 pm -12 am or 12 am-6 am)

Pay:

• Starting rate of pay is $23.90 per hour plus $.50 shift differential for nights
• Qualified rate of pay is $25.72 per hour plus $.50 shift differential for nights

*Most team members qualify as an assistant within 3 months for the qualified rate.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

• Review customer specification sheet (shopcard) in SAP to validate material and proper components are available to create product for customer.
• Set up joining equipment according to work instruction.
• Ensure corrugated material that is needed to run the customer order is available and ready at workstation to be fed into the equipment, including loading sheets in machine feeder and moving load units from staging conveyor to load lift
• Conduct a quality check of the first part to ensure it matches customer specifications and sign off on quality documentation.
• Escalate and notify supervisor, lead or quality if product doesn’t match customer requirements.
• Properly set up guide rails on equipment so material runs efficiently through the rollers of the equipment and doesn’t jam up.
• Adjust the air pressure on glue heads to apply the correct amount of glue.
• Adjust glue sensors to lay down proper amount of glue on the corrugated material so it properly folds down according to customer requirements.
• Ensure proper lamination by ensuring product runs through the bed of the joining equipment effectively.
• Ensure proper stack pattern is utilized based on customer expectations.
• Track and document scrap according to work instruction on the appropriate form for continuous improvement efforts.
• Stack product according to customer demands by feeding though conveyor, hand stacking and/or securing with banding material.
• Effectively run the product meeting machine metrics and avoiding down time whenever possible.

Essential to this Position

• Must be able to start on night shift (6:00pm to 6:00am) on a 2-2-3 rotation, working every other weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun)
• Must be able to work voluntary and mandatory overtime

Education Required- None

Knowledge, Skills, Or Abilities Desired

• The ability to read a tape measure/ ruler
• Strong mathematical skills
• Strong communication skills

Physical Requirements

• The ability to lift up 60 lbs on a continual basis
• The ability to visually distinguish color
