About The Opportunity
The Packaging Design Project Manager will act as the primary liaison between our customer and internal stakeholders to develop best-in-class retail merchandising solutions that will enable the customer’s sales growth. Using your corrugate packaging and display knowledge, you will ensure all aspects of a project move successfully through the design, material confirmation, sampling, testing, and approval processes.

About The Opportunity
The Packaging Design Project Manager will act as the primary liaison between our customer and internal stakeholders to develop best-in-class retail merchandising solutions that will enable the customer’s sales growth. Using your corrugate packaging and display knowledge, you will ensure all aspects of a project move successfully through the design, material confirmation, sampling, testing, and approval processes.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and complete projects, overseeing all aspects including deadlines, responsibilities, and progress.
- Make recommendations to customer to optimize quality, structural, and brand graphics integrity that are consistent with Menasha’s technical capabilities.
- Manage display and packaging development, working with internal and external stakeholders.
- Design, review, and test packaging proposals, considering material usage and manufacturing efficiencies.
- Conduct analytical testing on packaging materials and communicate results to stakeholders.
- Proactively manage project timelines and ensure key dates and deadlines are met.
- Develop and maintain documentation of product specifications and bills of materials for packaging components.
- Coordinate with planning and sourcing teams to confirm all materials in the finished good will meet design specifications.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives, including cost reduction strategies and packaging optimizations.
- Maintain professional knowledge of packaging technology trends and implement new solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree required. Preferred degree field in packaging engineering, industrial design, graphic design, or similar fields.
- Some relevant experience required.
- Knowledge of packaging materials and substrates, print methodology and packaging design.
- Ability to communicate with stakeholders with varying levels of technical knowledge through all stages of a project.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to keep a project on track, and to effectively pivot to get projects back on track after set-back.
- Proficiency using Enterprise Resource Planning systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and packaging design software.
- Primarily office-based with occasional time in production/warehouse settings.
- Position will split time between Menasha Packaging’s Design Office and our customer location.
- Occasional travel may occur.
