Childcare Worker (NOT A DAY-CARE SETTING)

The Childcare worker is a trained professional, employed in the role of caregiver. The Childcare worker is responsible for supervising youth and providing daily programs and services in accordance to state and agency regulations. The role involves direct supervision of youth.
Under direction of the Residential Manager and Childcare supervisors, Functions as a member of the residential staff providing on-going direct care of up to ten youth at a time in accordance with each resident's service plan.
The Childcare worker gives direction to the youth during daily activities, evaluates the performance and development of youth according to the Service Pan and goals, and maintains an ongoing relationship with the child.
Duties included are as follows:
- de-escalate youth
- encourage safe environment,
- implement service plans for children,
- create youth record entries,
- maintain confidentiality,
- maintain daily logs
- Monitor and update requested information in the Service Plans.
The Childcare worker is also responsible for communicating appropriate information to the rest of the staff, transporting youth, leading and providing cooking/maintenance/laundry services, supervising group activities on and off-site, administering Behavior Intervention Management as necessary, (Including performing restraints in accordance to the training methods received from Mended Reeds), First Aid and other duties as assigned.

Must be 21 or older
HS Diploma or GED required
Pass Drug-screen
Successful Background results such as but not limited to, FBI/BCI, SACWIS & Sex Offender search
Available for Flexible Hours/shifts
Successful Health Screening, able to lift 80 lb. dead weight from floor to over shoulder
Valid Driver’s License
Good Driving record
Dependable transportation
Able to effectively communicate through verbal/written expression.
Basic computer skills
