Under general direction, provides administrative support by planning, organizing, facilitating, and participating in the operations of a department or division. Positions in this classification are characterized by the high level of independence of judgment exercised as well as the need for initiative and flexibility in the performance of assignments. They are further distinguished by the variety of highly complex administrative functions performed in support of a department or a division. This may include responsibility for Student Information Systems data entry and review, analysis and training of other personnel. The Mendocino County Office of Education is a public agency whose primary purpose is to provide educational leadership, resources and services to schools to ensure wide-ranging educational opportunities for all students. This mission is accomplished through cooperative efforts with teachers, school districts, families, and communities; through direct instructional programs and administrative services; and through coordination with the California Department of Education and other agencies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Possess a valid California Special Education Credential, or a Pupil Personnel Services Credential with School Psychologist authorization;
• Administrative Services Credential or ability to obtain within two years of employment is desirable;
• A Master of Arts Degree, desirable;
• Three (3) years of experience in a California K-12 environment during which knowledge of special education needs and program issues was acquired;
• Possess or obtain upon employment, a valid California Driver License;
• Provide proof of automobile insurability;
• Meet the physical requirements necessary to perform assigned duties safely and effectively, including lifting twenty-five (25) pounds on an occasional basis and in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds with assistance.
