About the Role - The Installation Technician role will provide installation services for network cabling projects. They will install CAT6, fiber and networking components at various locations to build the foundation of customer networks.
Responsibilities
- Maintain documentation of all installation guidelines and support processes
- Execute the planned work, which includes adhering to the job plan and scope, as well as performing necessary retrofits and upgrades to existing infrastructure
- Successfully terminate various types of copper connectors
- Must be able to distinguish between colors and possess manual dexterity to complete fine motor tasks
- Accurately test copper cables to required certification parameters utilizing appropriate test equipment as required
- Possesses the skill to effectively instruct and guide fellow technicians on required techniques and work practices, facilitating smooth project execution
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of LAN topologies, cabling standards and components
- Ability to work extended hours, overtime as needed
- Install new and existing fiber optic wiring per company guidelines. Proficient in fusion splicing
- Installation of various types of Network equipment
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record & reliable vehicle
- OSHA 10 Required within the first 30 days of hire date
- Minimum 1 to 3 years of directly related experience
- Help Desk, Network, VOIP, Wireless and Video experience considered a major plus
- Possess a high level of independent judgment within established procedures
- Installing and terminating voice and data jacks; RJ11 and RJ45 modular ends
