What are the responsibilities and job description for the Support Specialist position at Menninger?
Key Functions
1. The Support Specialist participates in a restorative environment where each individual receives support and services related to :
- employment
- education
- life skills
- housing
- health and wellness
- social and recreational
- community linkage.
4. Use needs assessment to create Individualized Action Plans for each member.
5. Co-create and facilitate workshops pertinent to recovery, employment, education and independent living skills.
6. Provide support to include the explanation and planning of Social Security work incentives, support locating housing, SNAP benefits etc.
E DUCATION REQUIRED : Bachelor's degree required. Preferred : Master's degree in mental health related field to include specific training in psychiatric rehabilitation methods. Experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
LICENSE / CERTIFICATION : License to operate a motor vehicle in the state of Texas.
E XPERIENCE : Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in psychiatric rehabilitation treatment methods. Prior experience in the mental health field. Experience administering assessments used to evaluate and / or measure needs of individuals.
