Sewing Room Intern

Job Synopsis

The purpose of the Material Resources Center is to process donated material resources for MCC, involve volunteers in the ministry and vision of MCC, educate visitors about MCC's total mission and generate a portion of MRC budget needs. This position will contribute to producing material resources that are sent internationally. The sewing room intern will assist in the work of the sewing room and areas of the warehouse related to working with fabric donations and quality control. The sewing room intern will work with other MRC staff to engage volunteers with MCC. This is a 12-week internship from June 2-August 22, 2025.

Essential :

• High school diploma or equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree.

Key Responsibilities

Specific Tasks and Duties :

Assist in preparing supplies for volunteer activities (20%)

Engage volunteers (60%)

Sort donations (10%)

Assist in organizing sewing room or other workspace (10%)

Travel expectations : No nights away.

Physical Activity / Demands :

Environment Conditions : This position is not regularly exposed to adverse environmental conditions. The sewing room has air conditioning, but the warehouse does not.
