What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Groundskeeper position at Mennonite Friendship Communities?
ROLE: Responsible for assisting the grounds supervisor in maintaining the grounds of the entire campus.
GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Grounds Maintenance
- Assist with planting, pruning, and trimming trees, shrubs and flowers.
- Assist with mulching and landscaping.
- Assist with mowing, weeding and maintaining flowerbeds.
- Ability to operate snow removal equipment and assist with snow removal as directed.
- Assist to repair, install, and operate sprinkler systems.
- Ability to assist with servicing and repairing equipment.
Safety
- Perform tasks within department safety guidelines and within mfc policy and procedure.
- Ability to safely operate lawn equipment. (Tractor, push mower, gas trimmers, edgers, tillers, etc.)
- Safely operates mfc vehicles, including yard equipment, maintenance carts, maintenance trucks, etc. when picking up supplies or performing tasks around campus.
Other Duties
- Willing to be on call for facility maintenance as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: Six months of related experience is preferred.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Other: Must be 16 years of age or older to use lawn equipment.
Valid Kansas Drivers license required.
Skills: Enthusiasm, courtesy, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well with others to achieve desired outcomes.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Requires frequent walking, standing, sitting, and bending, as well as frequently lifting up to 50 pounds.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: Six months of related experience is preferred.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Other: Must be 16 years of age or older to use lawn equipment.
