Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Person to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical and electrical background, with the ability to perform various maintenance tasks in a residential setting. This role requires excellent customer service skills, as you will interact with residents while ensuring their living environment is safe and well-maintained.
Responsibilities
- Cleans and maintains an assigned area system wide on a substitute basis as directed.
- Must develop skills to supervise and participate in necessary painting and general repairs as directed.
- Perform general maintenance in remodeling and renovation repair work.
- Maintenance of school grounds.
- Performs snow removal as directed on a late night, early morning schedule.
- Assumes responsibility for the general fire safety of all buildings.
- Works with the transportation department when skills are needed.
- Performs: water tests, maintaining records, reports as are required.
- Must perform services after regular working hours (overtime) when needed.
- Must be willing to attain bus driver certification per master agreement "S" endorsement.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the operations supervisor.
- Must have appropriate clothing for the job (O.S.H.S.) standards ex. boots steel toe)
Qualifications
- Perform skills test: plumbing, woodworking, electrical.
- Must pass physicals for D.O.T. and for asbestos maintenance work provided by Menominee schools.
- Must furnish personal tools as is necessary to complete tasks.
- Ability to read operation instructions and write reports.
- Demonstrate aptitude for successful completion of tasks assigned.
- Demonstrate success in performing tasks of the sort listed below.
- Such alternatives to the qualifications listed above and below as the board may find appropriate and acceptable.
- Must be able to work at extended heights using ladders, scaffolds, and man lifts.
- Valid drivers license Michigan State points check.
- Must pass a State and FBI Criminal/Livescan background check.
