Job Summary
To teacher students the science skills required in accordance with the Districts Core Curriculum.
Duties
- Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided by the district.
-Prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.
-Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior and evaluate their progress on a regular basis.
-Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location.
-Makes provisions for being available to students and parents for education related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.
-Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
-Attends and participates in faculty meetings.
-Works to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning both the broad academic and behavioral progress of all assigned students.
-Regular and reliable attendance.
Requirements
-A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an approved college or university.
-Must have a valid Michigan teaching certificate.
-Must meet state and federal highly qualified teacher requirements in a broad field of science as set forth by the State of Michigan.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Proficient in the use of technology to promote efficiency in the position.
-Ability to prepare lesson plans and organize a meaningful instructional program.
-Ability to maintain records, and prepare reports and correspondence related to the position.
-Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $38,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
