What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bar Porter (2nd Posting) position at Menominee Indian Gaming Authority?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Shall put away all stock as it comes into the storage area.
- Shall maintain storage room and keep all soda/CO2 full.
- Shall haul cups and condiments to storage areas, maintaining the stations with appropriate supplies.
- Shall replace empty beer kegs; replenish beer stock, liquor bottles and fill beer coolers.
- Shall be responsible for keeping a safe and clean environment of the storage area behind the bar.
- Shall requisition liquor and supplies in accordance with good judgment.
- Shall empty garbage as needed for the bar.
- Any other duties assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION
- High School diploma or GED required.
EXPERIENCE
- Any experience in the area of stocking is helpful; will also train the right individual.
PREFERENCE
- Preference given for individuals with experience in a casino or tavern setting.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to work unusual hours, which includes days, nights, weekends and holidays.
- Candidate must be of good integrity, honest and trustworthy.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
CRIMINAL BACKGROUND MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
No person shall be eligible for employment at Menominee Casino Resort/Thunderbird Complex if they have been convicted, or have a pending unresolved charge of:
- Any crime which would require compliance with the reporting requirements for sex offenders pursuant to Menominee or Wisconsin law; or
- A felony conviction of any kind in the immediately preceding two years.
- A crime of any kind related to gambling in the immediately preceding two years.
- A crime of any kind related to theft, fraud, or misrepresentation in the immediately preceding two years.
- A crime of any kind related to a crime of violence, or involving, or involving domestic violence, or a drug offense involving sale of drugs, or possession with intent to sell drugs during the immediately preceding 2 years.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to use basic math skills: addition and subtraction to be able to give proper change
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draws valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
