The primary responsibility of the Calibration Laboratory Technician 1 (Cal Lab Tech 1) is to accurately, competently, impartially and efficiently perform calibrations according to relevant calibration laboratory work instructions, quality system procedures and according to Mensor’s accreditation to the latest revision of ISO/IEC 17025 & ANSI/NCSL Z540-1-1994. This includes the documented, demonstrated and proven proficiency in one of the three main pressure areas: low pressure, medium pressure or high pressure.
General Responsibilities:
- Accurately, competently, impartially and efficiently perform calibrations in one of the three main pressure areas: low pressure, medium pressure or high pressure
- Maintain laboratory equipment and calibration standards to keep them in factory (like new) working order
- Maintain an organized workplace
- Other duties as assigned by Calibration Laboratory Manager or Calibration Laboratory Lead Technician

- The ability to frequently lift or move heavy instruments (up to 55 pounds) required to perform calibrations
- The ability to repetitively lift or move mass pieces (up to 11 pounds) required to perform calibrations
- The ability to observe details at close range, such as small mass pieces, instrument adjustment potentiometers, computer monitor information, serial numbers, etc…required to perform calibrations
- The ability to understand basic mathematics such as greater/less than, addition, multiplication, division and subtraction required to perform calibrations
- The ability to work a minimum of 39 hours per week required to perform calibrations
- The ability to work required schedule to perform calibrations
- The ability to work as a part of a team or unsupervised as an individual
Work Environment:
- Calibrations are performed in a climate-controlled environment
- Calibrations may be performed in a “noisy” environment (constant sound in excess of 65 decibels)
- Frequently exposed to high pneumatic pressure (pressure greater than 1000 psi)
- Frequently exposed to high hydraulic pressure (pressure greater than 10000 psi)
- Infrequently exposed to the risk of electric shock
- Infrequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals
Other Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- High attention to detail
- Microsoft Office Suite
- General PC knowledge
- No minimum experience required
- Maximum 1 year experience
