Program Manager, Homeless Outreach Services (

  • Saturday through Wednesday work schedule

Estimated annualized salary :

  • 70,000 - $71,000 (unlicensed)
  • 74,000 (ASW / AMFT)
  • 78,000 - $81,000 (LCSW / LMFT)
  • The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.)

    Supervision Responsibilities : Under the general supervision of the Senior Director of Outreach and Street Based Medicine, provides direct supervision and performs leadership responsibilities for team members during program and outreach activities and provides secondary services based on the psychosocial rehabilitation model of treatment and services.

    Summary : Under the general supervision of the Senior Director of Outreach and Street Based Medicine, the Weekend Field Based Program Manager supervises the work of the Weekend Multi-disciplinary (MDT) and the Public Spaces teams outreaching individuals experiencing homelessness in Service Planning Area 8 (SPA 8). The goal of all the teams is to outreach, engage, and link individuals to services and provide access to permanent housing.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities : This is not an exhaustive task list, and other duties may be assigned as deemed appropriate or necessary by the supervisor or program director.   • Provide most of the day-to-day direct supervision to the teams in collaboration with the directors of the program
  • Recruit, hire, supervise, train, direct, evaluate discipline, and terminate program staff in collaboration with the directors of the program and in accordance with organizational policy and applicable laws and regulations
  • Provide timely information and feedback to directors with regard to emergent staff, team issues, and provide intervention when objectives are not being met.
  • Support the teams by participating in outreach efforts and teaching / mentoring street-based interventions and modeling motivational interviewing, harm reduction, housing first, and other evidenced-based practices.
  • Track, assess, and document how effectively the outreach teams meet their objectives
  • In conjunction with the Assistant Director and Senior Director of Outreach and Street Based Medicine provide oversight, analysis, and monitoring of the program’s budget and expenditures, making adequate and timely adjustments as needed.
  • Support outreach teams by locating resources and providing linkage to community mental health services, substance abuse / use treatment, primary health services, income assistance / benefits, interim housing, and permanent housing.
  • Facilitate enrollments of individuals into housing and supportive services programs.
  • Assist in coordination of all outreach efforts both proactive (identifying “hotspots”) and reactive (responding to requests / referrals).
  • Support team members with entering documentation of services and outcomes in Clarity and CHAMP.
  • Assist directors to ensure program’s monthly and yearly data reporting requirements are fulfilled.
  • Read, perform, research, attend classes, workshops, or seminars and participate in other professional development activities in order to maintain and enhance personal and professional skills
  • POSITION REQUIREMENTS :

  • Bachelor degree in a human service or related field or certification in a mental health specialty preferred
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience providing psychosocial rehabilitative services to a disabled population, plus experience in a supervisory / leadership role.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide supervision and leadership to diverse staff who possess a wide range of skills, abilities, and professional competencies.
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Ability to track and interpret complex data sets for program services and budget
  • Must be detail oriented, highly organized, and able to prioritize and juggle multiple projects.
  • Proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Flexible work schedule : availability for weekend coverage as necessary to support weekend outreach efforts, may also include some evenings and holidays.
  • Driving with current class C driver’s license, a vehicle for transportation, proof of valid automobile insurance, the ability to be insured by MHALA liability insurance are conditions of employment.
  • TB clearance and re-testing every year are conditions of continued employment
