Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Peer Specialist to join our team. As a Certified Peer Specialist, you will provide support and guidance to individuals with behavioral health challenges. Your role will involve utilizing your personal experience in recovery to inspire hope and promote wellness. Duties:
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to engage individuals in their recovery journey
- Provide peer support and mentorship to individuals with behavioral health challenges
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized person centered treatment plans
- Assist individuals in accessing community resources and support services
- Facilitate support groups and educational workshops
- Advocate for individuals' rights and needs within the behavioral health system
- Provide crisis intervention and support during times of distress
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of client interactions
Qualifications:
- Certification as a NC Peer Specialist or completion of a recognized Peer Specialist training program
- Strong understanding of behavioral health systems and recovery principles
- Knowledge of motivational interviewing, crisis management, and addiction counseling techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to establish rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Demonstrated ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
- Experience in social work, mental health counseling, or related field is preferred
